The famous Dr. Christopher’s Herbal Formula for Lungs and Respiratory Tract: It is wonderful for asthma. This combination of herbs in tea form is an aid to help relieve irritation in the respiratory tract — lungs and bronchial. This is an aid in Emphysema as well as other bronchial and lung congestion such as bronchitis, asthma, tuberculosis, etc. The suggested amount for an adult is a cup two or three times a day.
OPTIONAL: For additional help in the program, if you have it available to you, it is good to add three to six drops of tincture of lobelia to each cup of tea. This formula consists of comfrey leaf/root, mullein, chickweed, marshmallow root (and lobelia). Lobelia is optional, as I can’t add it to the formula here, due to excessive regulation.
Testimonials:
“I contracted T.B. at age 15 and now 30 years later, calcification has collapsed my left lung. I take dilation medication and need oxygen to sleep at night. I started Dr. Christopher’s Lung Formula Lung & Bronchial and it immediately started helping. It makes it so much easier to get out the mucus. P.S. It is also helping my brother-in-law who has emphysema.” – O.R., San Antonio, TX
Symptoms:
In Asthma the system is filled with waste matter and mucus. Asthma is characterised by laboured breathing (dyspnea), wheezing with dry and painful coughing which is often due to an extreme irritation of the mucous membranes in the nasal passages or bronchial tubes. The symptoms are accompanied by constriction of the chest (bronchiolar spasm) and expectoration of mucus (mucoid sputum). Asthma may result in an excessive development (hypertrophy) of the glandular elements. This affliction is commonly believed to be due to hypersensitivity to inhaled or ingested substances such as odours, pollen, dust, smoke, etc.
Cause:
Asthma is caused by malnutrition. Only by diligent and consistent effort to change embedded habits will one get permanent relief. The cough is a result of nature’s effort to expectorate mucus from the lungs, after which breathing becomes easier. Ofttimes the cause of asthma is basically a nervous condition because the nerves are irritated.
Dosage:
Suggested amount for an adult (70Kg) is a cup two or three times a day.
Serving Size:
Cup (good sized) about 250ml
How to Make it:
Make a decoction or infusion, or whatever way you prefer to make your teas. Strong or weak, your choice, experiment as you like.
I personally add 1 ounce to a little over 1 litre of filtered water, and heat at 50 degrees C max, for 20-30 min, often I leave it covered overnight to extract better after the low temperature cooking. That should yield 4 cups (add more filtered water if necessary).
Remember there are some roots so it needs time to extract for more benefit. Some actually roll-boil the mixture for 10-12 minutes and then leave overnight to extract before filtering and using. Another method is to soak the herbs overnight and then boil gently for about 15-30 minutes to extract. Maybe experiment to see what you prefer.
Most people will filter the tea before drinking to remove the small hairs of Mullein leaf that can cause some irritation, I do that.
